Edmonton 2010 NAAWscars Commercial Contest
National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW) is celebrated the 3rd week in November every year in Canada.
It is a time to celebrate the joy of an addictions-free lifestyle. During the week communities provide information and raise awareness on addiction issues that affect individuals, families and communities. We are calling on you to help celebrate National Addictions Awareness Week by submitting an original, creative, and informative “addictions–free commercial” for radio or television. Deadline for submissions is October 29, 2010. See "2010 Registration" page on this website.
This year, National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW) is being held November 14-20, 2010. The NAAWscars Awards Gala will be held in the Stanley Milner Library theatre during the evening of Tuesday November 16. There are many other National Addiction Awareness Week events held by several other organizations, and links for more information will also be on this website.
The purpose of the Addictions Free Commercial Contest is to raise awareness of the issues of addictions in our community, and provide ideas on how we can each prevent addictions and reduce the harms associated with alcohol, tobacco, drugs, gambling and other addictions.
This website will have all current information for you.
